when crisis happens, do people run to you?
do they come knocking on your door, asking if you're okay, if you need soup, if you need any help at all? do they come asking because they know you're a good friend, or simply because of how shaken up you maybe?
'i'm okay,' you said.
two words that would immediately signal to most of the world this: 'you don't need my help. i can move on with my life now.'
but the ones who stay, nonetheless, are the ones you must treasure. the ones who ask you if you're okay from time to time, just to check on you, even after you have reassured them numerous times that you are perfectly fine. even the ones who have heard of whatever crisis you may have been in, and they come running to you, offering assistance--know that they are precious people, but love the rest no less as well.
it is in times of crisis, that our hearts show.
i hope i haven't been too much of a nuisance to you in this time of crisis.
and i appreciate the fact that you've come up to me to ask if i've been alright throughout.
i'm alright.
i'm okay.
