the cycle of life.
we get hurt.
we hurt someone else in return.
it hurts.
but it isn't always about us. it can't always be about us. never always about our hopes, our dreams, our desires. put yourself in the center of your world and you'll find yourself feeling awful more than ever. you think about why things don't ever go your way; how come you didn't get that job offer; why is it that your boyfriend had to break up with you and ruin your life at this time; how do you survive without your wife--it's not always about you, you dimwit.
yes, your life is your own, but here's what i believe in:
i believe in people.
i believe in caring for one another. i believe in talking to people because they looked lonely, even though i may be really bad at talking. i believe in including people. i believe in prayers, encouragements, love, and kindness--towards others.
generally--well, i believe in pleasing people.
of course, the word emphasized here is 'moderation'. i myself am learning how to position my world with others' worlds so that we all come to a good balance. it's a marathon, really. you have to keep doing it. once you stop or pause for a little while, it all falls apart, and you gotta start over again.
above all--i believe in getting hurt for the right people.
for the people we care most about.
damn right when someone tells you life going to hurt like hell.
the key is always, always knowing who to feel hurt for.
the keepers. the ones worth staying in our lives.
in the end--our lives are not our own.
we intertwine and form a web chock full of knots that it will take an entire lifetime to untangle all of them.
so we choose which knots are the ones worth untangling.
because we know we will not be able to untangle this web.

Your posts are always inspiring, and are (amazingly, it seems to me) in resonance with whatever's going on in my life at the moment. I guess it just emphasizes how similar we all are.
Hope everything's going well. Happy holidays :D
that's great (i think? haha). your comments encourage me a lot as well, because more than often i think i'm writing for an invisible audience or just myself. (:
thanks!
